毎年書いているような気がしますが，Martinelliのワインの中で一番好きなのはジンファンデルです。Giuseppe & Luisa，Jackass，Jackass Hillというラインナップで，後ろの方ほど上級という扱いですが，Wine Advocate誌での評価は概ねどれも同じ。市場価格で見ると米国ではJackass Hillが高く，日本ではJackassとJackass Hillが高価。Giuseppe & Luisaは米国で70ドル台，日本でも7000円台とほぼ同価格で，倍近くの値段になってしまうジャッカスと比べると大幅にお買い得感があります。

2006年はWAで95点という過去最高得点を取ったこともあり，日本への入荷は極めてわずからしいです。というわけでお好きな方はお早めに。なお，別のショップでは税込み7500円で2005年があります（WA94点）。これは明らかに現地価格以下。Wassy'sもちょっと高いですがあります。

ちなみにパーカーのコメントを見ると2006年は
The 2006 Zinfandel Giuseppe & Luisa (730 cases) is a full-throttle Zin that tips the scales at 16.4% alcohol. Briery, roasted herb, kirsch, coffee bean, mincemeat, pepper, and a strawberry-like note emerge from this complex wine that tastes like a big southern Rhone. It should drink nicely for 5-7 years.

2005年は
The 2005 is a blockbuster, with deep ruby/purple color and a big, sweet nose of ripe figs, strawberry and cherry jam, mincemeat, and peppery spices. It is full-bodied, heady, opulent, and ideal for drinking over the next 5-7 years, although I suspect it will last a lot longer.

ただ，MarinelliのジンファンデルはWAの評価はおしなべて高い一方で，パーカーの掲示板あたりでは評価が真っ二つに割れるワインでもあります。好きな人はとことん好きだし，嫌いな人にとっては耐えられないワインらしい。アルコール度の高さを許容できるかどうかが分かれ目でしょう。僕は好きです。


柳屋では日本向けに作ったワインだというこれも気になる。
