Santa Rita Hillsの人気の畑「Clos Pepe」を擁するClos Pepe Wineryで痛ましい事故がありました。畑で働いていた二人が灌漑用の池で溺れ死んだのです。
"Two employees of Clos Pepe Winery were found drowned Wednesday night in an irrigation pond on the winery property in the Santa Rita Hills west of Buellton."

状況からみて，一人がカヤックで池のフィルターで作業中，カヤックから落ち，それを見たもう一人が助けようと飛び込んでともに助からなかったようです。
